South Africa Prepares for 2010 World Cup

world-cupSouth Africa is getting for all the attention they will receive during the 2010 fifa world cup. The World Cup draw is only a short two weeks away. Many people have expressed doubt about the South African venue, and there is tremendous pressure on the country.

The construction of beautiful new stadiums have silenced some critics, and some attention has even be turned to how those stadiums will be used after the big event. The draw will be held in Cape Town, there an airport was recently constructed to handle the expected increase in airline traffic.

There has also been a significant amount of construction at the airport in Johannesburg, where they majority of World Cup fans are expected to arrive.

There are over three million world cup tickets available, but almost a million of them have been sold already.

The organizing committee in South Africa claims that the country will be prepared to put on an excellent world cup.

There are still concerns about security, in a nation that has extremely high murder and theft rates. There are also worries about the lack of hotels in certain locations.

There will be a tremendous police presence throughout the World Cup, and extensive security preparations are already being made.

The military will also be providing assistance. Many soccer fans are trying to buy World Cup tickets, and hopefully the tournament will go off without any disturbances.
