Well, as reported yesterday, Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was looking for an away goal against PSV Eindhoven last night. Well there was a goal, but not an away one, as Arsenal lost 1 - 0.

Wenger was at a loss to try to explain his team’s second half performance during which they created absolutely no chances, lost all cohesion and could seem to pass the ball. Perhaps Arsene should have stuck with his second team of youngsters, they could have played a lot better, as they have shown already this season on a few occasions.

Wenger was quoted as saying, “We had a decent first half and created chances to be in front and we could not do it.

“What happened in the second half is difficult to say. We dropped our level of cohesion, our passing and fluency went. We created barely anything. (That’s what I said! ;-))

“We could have been punished more. We looked a little bit out of rhythm.”

Though 1 - 0 down isn’t a total loss. Arsenal have to be stronger and play better at home and I think they could turn the tie around against a side that could and probably should have reached the final a couple of years ago when they totally out played AC Milan for large parts of the semi-final.

Wenger thought the Dutch side were a little negative in their tactics. Though if the thought that was negative, wait until you see them try and defend a 1 - 0 lead at the Emirates!
