I am a young footballer(attacker). I have sound health. I’m a Nigerian and I'm playing with a local football club here in Nigeria. I want to come for trial in Singapore if invited. I have all it takes to be among the best footballer in the world. Give me a trail and see to yourself.

@Mark P: In UK is called football, here we call it soccer. :)

About the training jerseys, i´m a big fan of soccer jerseys (in general) and must say that I don´t have (I own more than 80 jerseys from different soccer clubs worldwide) any training jersey with a name. I probably have about 8 training jerseys and only 2 of them has numbers, both of them are from Man Utd.

Hope my experience helps.

I found a few video drills at fundamentalsoccer.com and soccerhelp.com. I volunteered coach 4, 5 & 6 yr olds last fall for the first time in my life and I found that the best way kids learned is by example; I made it ALL fun learning games for them. This age is perfect for their brains to learn to process a lot of activity and learn new skills. Forget the seriousness, if they really end up liking the game that will come with time. At this age it all has to be FUN. Praise is more motivating than criticism.

Hi Sais,

I’m Ros, a librarian from National Library Board, Singapore and I happen to stumble upon your blog.

Interesting thoughts you have there!

Anyway, if you want to find out more about the origin of soccer, perhaps you’d like to check out our ASK! blog.

My advise would be to not start diving on ur feet. Start out sitting down and have a partner throw the ball to either side of u. As u get better at this you should stand up and try it.

You should approach your Nigerian friends in Singapore to set you up for trials with the local S-League clubs in Singapore. Each of the local clubs can hire a few foreigners in each football season.
References :
http://www.lifestylewiki.com

Nothing much. I'm 17(defender) and i play against grown men almost every day.i'm just 5'4.but everyday i read the pattern and start to get better. now i'm the the most feracious guy on the field. just make sure the opponent are scared of you. to achieve that, increase your stamina. like me, i go almost everywhere like a raging bull just to get the ball. be confident and brave. dont hurt other people though.btw i'm heavily built and a strong header
References :
experience

Hey, Im a Singaporean too. You can go for trials at all the clubs, except for foriegn clubs like Albirex Nigata (Japanese club). There are 12 clubs in the S.League (including foreign clubs) that you can find easily cause of how small Singapore is. Check out this web, http://www.sleague.com/clu.asp, for all club's Addresses and Websites - they're important. Work hard and good luck.
References :
Being a Singaporean footballer.

I used to play defense and my coach always relied on me but at first i wasnt good. First you have to be able to stick w/ anyone no matter what. Run some 40 yard dashes to work on your sprint speed. When you play D it is more important to be a fast sprinter than long distance. You also need endurance to continually run down ppl. U wont often need to run 4 long distances mostly short spirts. Also if u are not good technically or even if u r u need 2 be very tough on D iany1 can overpower ur going to have a tough day. I have played on D w/ ppl whos technique sucks but are simply tough enough to always get the ball. Also use all of ur body. Head foot shoulder and possibly in desperate times ur knee it will look bad but u might need 2. One drill is to have someone dribble at u at an angle and force them one way by turning ur body then have them cut and force them the other way. U r NOT trying 2 get the ball. Also have ur friend dribble at u trying to get the ball u need to be able 2 handle 1v1. Lastly have some throw the ball to u or roll or w/e and give u three sec to clear it to midfield you stand near the top of the D

really have speed be tough and be able 2 handle YOUR man and youll be fine
