UEFA Champions League Quarter & Semi Final Draw
Posted by The Soccer Blogger as Champions League
The draw for the quarter and semi finals for this season’s Champions League has just taken place in Nyon, Switzerland.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a UEFA draw without the usual speeches and ceremony that preceeded the draw itself. But in the end, with everyone anxious to find out who they were going to meet and who they would avoid the draw was finally made, and this is what we have to look forward to:

Quater Final
Villarreal v Arsenal
Man Utd v FC Porto
Liverpool v Chelsea
FC Barcelona V Bayern Munich
First Leg April 7 & 8 / Second Leg 14 & 15
Semi Final
Winner QF2 v Winner QF1
Winner QF4 v Winner QF3
Fisrt Leg April 28 & 29 / Second Leg May 5 & 6
Final
Home Team Winner SF 2
Away Team Winner SF1
What is it with Chelsea playing Liverpool in Europe? Don’t know about you, but it getting a little bit boring quite frankly. That’s five years running the two teams have been drawn together in the Champions League. Unbelievable! When they have met in the knock-out stages, all semi finals, the team playinng away first have always gone through.
Man Utd will be absolutely thrilled with their draw. Porto, no disrespect to them, but they are probably the weakest team in the draw and Utd have also avoided Barcelona, the current favourites. It looks like another all English semi final with Arsenal playing Villarreal. Again no disrespect to Villarreal.
Well, whatever you think, there are some great ties to look forward to, and some even greatest games awating in the Semis, particularly the second semi a potential clash between either Liverpool & Chelsea v Barcelona & Bayern Munich. Now whichever way the tie pans out, that’s a mouth watering prospect to look forward to.
Cheers
Rik

Hi
Thanks for getting in touch. I’m sure both Chelsea and Liverpool would have preferred another draw, but that’s the way it is and it should be a great tie as both teams are playing really well at the moment.
Good luck to your team, good luck to all the teams left in the competition!
Cheers

Hi
Well there certainly seem to be a lot of Blues fans out there this afternoon.
Any Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal fans too? In deed any fans from any of the remaining teams left in? Let’s hear from you too. I think the happiness fans should be the Utd ones.
