Elizabeth Lambert Suspended (Video)

Elizabeth Lambert, a defender for New Mexico, has recently become an internet sensation. In a recent game against BYU she was extremely aggressive and downright dirty. At times she even threw punches and pulled hair. Almost all of this went unnoticed by the referees.
The video below shoes these incidents in detail. Lambert only received a yellow card for her actions, when she clearly should have been removed the game. She was seriously endangering the opposing team, and play like hers has no place in college soccer.
In reaction, New Mexico suspended Elizabeth Lambert from all team activities. Some people believe that this punishment is not harsh enough and are calling for more action to be taken. In a statement through the New Mexico school website, she apologized for her actions and blamed her emotions for getting the best of her. She also apologized to her teammates for the embarrassment she has brought to the program. Lastly she reached out to the BYU women’s soccer team, who probably were not so forgiving.
Although players like these can bring more publicity and attention to the sport of soccer, they don’t belong on the field.
