Chelsea Dampen Ballack Speculation

Michael Ballack, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of him. Isn’t he a mate of some bloke called Shevchenko? Yes, I’m sure he is!

Anyway, Chelsea have tried to play down the inevitable speculation that the German midfielder will be leaving the London club in the January transfer window.

Ballack appears to be day dreaming about what his wages will be able to buy him in London.

The fresh rumours look like they have been sparked when Ballack was omitted from the 25 man squad for the group stages of the Champions League. Chelsea were quick to point out however that Ballack will be out of action until at least October with an ankle injury and could be added to the squad in January when three changes are permitted. I would venture to guess that the critical word in all that is “could”!

Ballack has not played since April and his club boss Mourinho is apparently unhappy that the German preferred to have immediate surgery rather than play through the pain barrier in the battle with Manchester Utd for the title and FA Cup.

Odds of seeing Ballack and Shevchenko playing in the same Chelsea team together again? Very very long indeed!! Don’t waste your money!
