Robinho Biography
Posted by curtis as English Premiership, International Leagues
Robinho, or Robson de Souza, is Manchester City’s new star on their mission to compete with the English Premier League’s big four. Robinho was formerly on Real Madrid and was signed on the final day of the transfer period during 2008.
Manchester City has never acquired a superstar of such status. There have been great expectations for Robinho since his early teenage years. During the 04/05 season, his mom was kidnapped and this had a tremendous impact on his life.
By the end of that year he was given the honor of “World Youth Soccer Player of the Year”. Robinho signed for Real Madrid at the end of the season and went on to score ten goals for the world class club. Even with his success Robinho struggled to adapt to the playing style and spent a good deal of time on the sidelines.
Robinho’s run with Real Madrid ended when he refused to sign a new contract. Although he was close to signing with Chelsea, he ended up at Manchester Stadium. Robinho finished his first season with Manchester with fifteen goals in just over 40 games.
Robinho will be a key element on the Brazilian national team this summer as they compete in the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. At this time nobody can predict what club team Robinho will be playing for, but many suspect it could be Barcelona or Chelsea. It is clear that his future is bright and wherever he plays he will bring plenty of excitement to the game of soccer.
I hope you enjoyed my Robinho biography.
