The Liverpool captain said he would love to be a manager after his retirement but is doubtful if he would be able to do the job.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he admitted that he was contemplating a future career in management.

“People ask me what I would like to do after football and I’d love to be a manager,” he mused.

His uncertainty starts with; if he can think, breathe and talk soccer 24/7 as most managers do.

Gerrard is the type of player who wants to gear away from the pressure of football. He shifts focus to his family as well as other hobbies like golf and not to think about football day in and day out.

Although he always tries to get feedback from other players such as John Terry and Wayne Rooney about how they are handled by their managers. He wants to get to know how they interact with their players and the ways they serve as motivators of the game.

He is looking for that same passion he has seen from other managers. The obsession to the game that a manager needs to have must be present in him. Once he can put that into heart then he knows he will be valuable in mentoring and sharing the competitive fire to his players.
