What are some ways to improve my soccer skills?

Posted by The Soccer Blogger as Soccer Training & Skills

I need ideas on what to practice on and what drills will help me get better!

Since I work with talent development there are no easy answers altough I would advice kicking the ball against a wall, its only really helpful at the beginner level

What I would advice you to do is apart as keeping physically fit as possible through sit ups, push ups etc

Practisce running short and intense sprints against a steep uphill this will improve your acceleration.

When Practising stamina take the ball with you for runs and (this way you will get aquianted well with it) in your stamina practise inorder to make it Soccer/Football realistic you should run in intervalls jogging calmly for 3min then running fast for 30seconds and then switching down back to the 3min calm. Doing this repeptition about 10-12 times for a distance of 5-6km.

You should practice shots against a wall and your footwork
repetition is important.
get like a soccer rebounder that when you kick it against something it comes back to you
Juggling is and excellent way to practice

the outside of your foot is realy helpful for getting around ppl and the more you play with a soccer ball the more you get used to the feel of it

Just practice everything what you have done during practice everyday. Work on juggling to improve first touchs, pracice long passes, short passes and work on agility/speed, practice goal kicks(almost the same as free kicks), different juke type moves ex. cross over and just watch some soccer games.
