what type of fitness is required for a soccer player (speed, power agility ect.)?

Posted by The Soccer Blogger as Soccer Training & Skills

ball control, speed, a lot of endurance (the average midfielder runs about nine miles in a game), a good foot, team skills, and a lot of background in the sport… and as cliche as it sounds.. practice makes perfect

High endurence you have to be able to play 45 min non stop.
You also haveto be really fast and able to change directions quickly.

Of course all this dependes in the level you want to play at.

i’ve been playing soccer for almost 9 years and have been awarded as a league champion twice.
for soccer you must be :
fast.
good at trapping the ball.
CONTROL is essential.
you must use logic too. Be able to angle the ball.
you also must have a good relationship between your foot and the ball- try doing touches.
also, you get cramps very easily in soccer, so you must have a good pulse.

My husband played professional in Argentina, it’s all about endurance and of course playing the game well. According to him this is one of the most physical games.

depends on position….
defense able to have speed and ability not to make poor decision or get knocked off the ball - chelsea’s terry
Midfield be able to have good ball control speed to cover the field and have some body power - wanye rooney
attack is more of ball control and power with the ability to shoot and be accurate- peter crouch
Goalie like me tall quick side to side have a strong foot to punt and be able to make smart challanges aka oliver kahn, petr cech
